This is either a really bad or really great political movie. I felt like i’d just wasted 2 hours of my life that i would never get back. It’s an entirely poetic world. A plowed field, the sea, Pharaon’s flowers, the pudenda of Domino and of the ravaged girl – this mix of images of beauty, evil, and possibility assaults Pharaon as he tries to do his job and hold on to his humanity.

Nonetheless, in his mode as essayist of cinema he is the most rewarding Godard. Well, can’t we be moved by music? I like Limits of Control and with a quote from Jim Jarmusch…. The dialogue is fairly oblique and stilited, but thats just how Godard rolls. If you don’t like Godard’s work, don’t waste your time looking at this gem.
Perhaps Godard should have told her that it’s not the end that matters but the journey to achieve that end? At the atomic and sub-atomic level, an act of observation noticeably affects what is being observed.
